Hardware and Software Requirements for QuickMAR

Hardware and Software requirements These are the requirements to run QuickMAR only—it does not take into account any needs of other applications running on the computer.

  • Operating System:  Windows 10 or newer.  64 Bit version
    • We do not support Windows 10S or older versions of Windows
    • QuickMAR does not run on any NON-Windows device such as Chromebooks, iPads, or MAC computers.
  • RAM:  2 GB
  • Disk Space for QuickMAR Application: 1 GB
  • Screen Resolution:  1280×1024 or higher
  • Internet Protocol Version:  IPV 4
  • Internet Bandwidth:  Broadband internet
  • .Net Version:  4.61 or newer 
  • A printer is required to utilize the 911 quick print feature.
  • Bar code scanner:   Any 2D model
  • QuickMAR does not support a virtual setup.  This setup does not allow for fully functionality of the QuickMAR application.  If an organization chooses a virtual environment setup, the QuickMAR team can not troubleshoot issues and provide support for this setup.

Please note that Windows 10 and 11 come with Firewall enabled.  Please ensure firewall configuration addresses are listed in the Windows firewall section as well as any other firewall that is set up on your specific network or computer.

Hardware and Software Requirements for QuickMAR

Minimum Specs

Via Citrix/VMWare/Hyper-V – This is more of a general guide, as each platform has different variations on these settings, but these settings can have a significantly negative affect on the look and performance of QuickMAR if not done correctly.

  • Operating System:  Windows 8 or newer with the most recent critical updates installed.  Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer with the most recent critical updates installed.  -Windows 10S is not yet supported at this time. Windows 11 is NOT yet supported. Non-Windows operating systems are not supported.
  • RAM:  1 GB,  or “Give All” from host.
  • CPU:  1 Core, 2 GHz or  higher, or “Give All” from host.
  • Disk Space: 1 GB
  • App Window  Resolution:  1280 x 1024 or higher with suggested window size at 98%
  • Client System Monitor Resolution:  Must be at least equal to or higher than the App Window Resolution
  • Color:  16 bit color
  • Internet Bandwidth:  1Mbps (down) for every 10 patient beds being served  (This is in addition to any other bandwidth requirements you may have)
  • Anti-Virus Protection:  Anti-Virus protection must be installed and running.
  • Firewall: Any Firewall must be configured to allow access to the QuickMAR data servers.
  • .Net Version:  4.61 or newer
  • SQL Compact Edition version:  3.5 Service Pack 2
  • Remote Connectivity:  Low latency is critical, so please keep this mind when configuring compression & encryption options.
  • *warning* MedAssure should not be enabled in this configuration.  Most virtual application platforms have the ability to queue data during network outages anyway, so check with your IT admin for details about that functionality.

  • CPU:  4 Cores, 3.5 GHz or  higher.   “Give All” from host.
  • Disk Space: 1 GB
  • App Window  Resolution:  1900 x 1080 or higher with suggested window size at 98%
  • Client System Monitor Resolution:  Must be at least equal to or higher than the App Window Resolution  —This is critical to the effective display of the Application.
  • Color:  32 bit color
  • Internet Bandwidth:  1Mbps (down) for every 10 patient beds being served  (This is in addition to any other bandwidth requirements you may have)
  • Anti-Virus Protection:  Anti-Virus protection must be installed and running.
  • Firewall: Any Firewall must be configured to allow access to the QuickMAR data servers.
  • .Net Version:  4.72 or newer
  • SQL Compact Edition version:  3.5 Service Pack 2
  • Remote Connectivity:  Low latency is critical, so please keep this mind when configuring compression & encryption options.
  • *warning* MedAssure should not be enabled in this configuration.  Most virtual application platforms (Citrix, VMWare) have the ability to queue data during network outages via their network client configurations anyway, so check with your IT admin or IT service provider for details about that functionality.

Special NOTE: Windows XP and Windows 7 are not supported by Microsoft and are not supported for use with QuickMAR.
