Resident Orders

• Resident Orders may come directly from the pharmacy into QuickMAR. Or, you may enter them manually.
• QuickMAR works with a variety of order types:
  • Medications
  • Treatments
  • Vitals
  • Informational Orders (standing orders, ancillary orders, etc.)
• Handles a variety of schedules and other requirements
  • PRN or routine
  • Sliding scale
  • Record injection site
  • Self-administered meds
  • Controlled meds
  • Daily, days of week, every Nth day, weekly, etc.

Passing Meds

• See only those meds due during that pass for that day
• Quickly view PRN meds or meds due in other med passes
• Displays resident photo
• See diagnosis, allergies and informational orders
• New drugs are flagged, as are recently DC’d drugs
• View medications, treatments, and vitals
• Shows generic or brand-name equivalents
• Pick the meds by using a mouse or a bar code scanner
• At the confirmation screen, record Exceptions (e.g., Out of Facility), vitals data, PRN amount given and reason, sliding scale amount given, injection site and other data.

Alerts, Reminders, Warnings

• A variety of features help to prevent errors in the med pass
• Reminders any time a scheduled med is overdue
• Reminders to follow up on PRN drugs given
• Warning if you forget to pick a med that is due
• Won’t let you save until you enter valid data when required, e.g., sliding scale amount, injection site, vital sign value, etc.
• Warning if you scan a wrong bar code
• Meds imported from the pharmacy are flagged if the data looks suspicious
  

The MAR

• Contains all the data found in a traditional paper MAR
• Better formatting and use of the page
• All entries are legible
• Bottom of the MAR has all the data found on the back page: PRN results, exceptions, vitals collected, etc.
• Can view and print MARs for all or just some residents with one button

• One-touch reorder sends a reorder request to the pharmacy with the required information: resident name, drug name, RX number, etc.
