Palmetto Long Term Care Pharmacy Brings QuickMAR to South Carolina
Boise, Idaho – December 22, 2008 – Med Management Technology and Palmetto Long Term Care Pharmacy have partnered to offer the QuickMAR electronic medication management system to long term care facilities in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
“Pharmacies offering QuickMAR provide an intuitive and cost-effective automated solution in response to intensifying demand among long term care facilities for a more efficient and accurate replacement to the archaic and risk-prone paper Medication Administration Record (MAR)” states Reed Demordaunt, CEO of Med Management Technology. “Federal and state regulations as well as liability concerns provide added incentive for long-term care facilities to improve medication management processes. QuickMAR automatically generates accurate and complete records, while safeguarding against medication errors through active reminders and alerts to caregivers, ensuring timely delivery of the correct medications to long term care residents.”
QuickMAR was originally developed in 2003 as an internal application in assisted living facilities to simplify the medication management and administration process. As it proved to dramatically improve accuracy and efficiency of the med pass process, it was finally launched as a commercial product in 2007. Today, QuickMAR customers report a 30-50% improvement in efficiency and greater accuracy in med passes, and better record keeping, resulting in better state surveys.
“We have identified QuickMAR as a tool to help improve service to and solidify business with existing customers, as well as to attract new high-quality facilities and corporate groups of facilities. QuickMAR is a very affordable way for a long term care pharmacy to quickly respond to growing demands for an eMAR solution” said Tom Starke, Director of Sales & Marketing for Palmetto. “It is very easy to use and easy to train others on its many benefits. I like that they are constantly adding new features to make it even better. Nurses and administrators want it as soon as they start viewing the demo.”
Palmetto has already begun deploying QuickMAR to its LTC customers.
